V ring FORSHEDA of TRELLEBORG

The V-Ring is a unique, all-rubber seal for rotating shafts. The seal was developed in the 1960s by Forsheda AB and has been successfully used by a multitude of OEMs and in the aftermarket worldwide in a wide variety of applications.

The V-Ring is a perfect seal to prevent the ingress of dirt, dust, water or combinations of these agents, while effectively retaining grease. Thanks to its exceptional design and performance, the V-Ring can be used with a wide range of bearing models. It can also be used as an auxiliary seal to protect the main seals when these do not function optimally in aggressive environments.

V-Rings are available in seven standard radial sections to suit various space and service requirements.

Types of materials:

The most frequently selected material is the purpose-made nitrile rubber N6T50, which has excellent overall properties. Fluorinated rubber (FKM) V-Rings can be supplied for applications at temperatures above 100°C in the presence of aggressive chemicals. In practice, a wide range of rubber compounds are available, some of which are shown in the following list.
