The Piston seals are used in hydraulic cylinders for fluid sealing. They are housed inside the cylinder head and achieve sealing against the cylinder rod, preventing fluid from flowing through the cylinder head. This allows pressure to be generated on one side of the piston, causing the cylinder to extend or retract.
Piston seals are mainly made of our PTFE-based Turcon® material or Zurcon® polyurethane. Manufactured specifically for hydraulic applications, these compounds provide exceptional wear resistance and outstanding extrusion properties. Compatible with virtually all media, they offer unmatched performance at extreme temperatures.

Rod seals are used to ensure tightness in hydraulic cylinders. They are housed in the guide plug and achieve sealing by acting against the piston rod, preventing fluid leakage from the inside to the outside of the cylinder.

Stem Seals
Scrapers are used on hydraulic cylinders to scrape dirt, foreign particles, chips or moisture from the piston rods, preventing them from entering the system. They prevent contamination of the hydraulic medium that can damage guide rings, seals and other components.
Trelleborg Sealing Solutions offers a wide range of scrapers with metal case, elastomer, PTFE-based Turcon® material or Zurcon® polyurethane. The range includes the Turcon® Excluder®, Trelleborg Sealing Solutions’ patented double-acting scraper design.
Manufactured specifically for hydraulic cylinder applications, Turcon® and Zurcon® materials exhibit excellent low friction properties, providing exceptional wear resistance.
